Pre-sales are the activities that take place before a sale is made. This includes the initial contact with the customer, services or value subsequently provided, and ultimately the customer’s decision to buy the product or service in question. Pre-sales professionals may have a variety of specialities. Some are involved with locating prospects who have issues that can be solved by a company's products or services. Pre-sales may also involve tailoring a presentation or proposal to a specific prospect and demonstrating how the service or product resolves the prospect’s issues. Pre-sales professionals also relay market data back to their teams for product and marketing development.
