MS Active Directory (AD)

• A directory service for Windows domain network. 
• AD server is called domain controller. 
• It authenticates and authorizes all users and computers in a Windows domain. 
• Active Directory uses LDAP, Kerberos, and DNS. 
• Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) is a single sign-on service.
